HOW IT WORKS
It starts with a consultation and ends with a fully customized curriculum. We can deep dive into one of the offerings below in any way you desire, whether you want a more cerebral approach, desire a deeper understanding of the physical practice, or want to be grounded in both. We can also approach the custom course from a lifestyle angle i.e. if you sit at a desk all day, we can blend multiple styles to create the perfect yoga practice and yoga-based habits to counteract the toll your posture takes on the body.
Courtney Connell is an E-RYT 500 yoga instructor, certified and registered through the Yoga Alliance. She is formally trained in Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Gentle and Nidra. Her passion lies in studying the links between Western Medicine and Eastern Practice while creating mindful sequences to challenge the mind, body and soul. All retreats are blended with 8-limb philosophy, honoring a complete yogic experience.

EXAMPLE COURSE TOPICS
THE APPROACH TO EACH OF THESE TOPICS WILL BE MODIFIED DRASTICALLY BASED ON SKILL LEVEL, GOALS AND WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE A YOGA INSTRUCTOR. YOGA INSTRUCTOR CURRICULUMS WILL BE MORE FOCUSED ON TEACHING TECHNIQUES AND NON-INSTRUCTORS WILL BE MORE FOCUSED ON A SELF-PRACTICE.
This is an intense practice focused on fascia. All of the postures are done on the ground (no standing). Perfect for all bodies and those who want a new approach to stretching. I suggest pairing this practice with the 5 Elements so that you have a foundation in the mindset that guides the shapes. A simple Yin Yoga Practice can be achieved within 2-3 modules.
This practice is all about RnR. It is the perfect escape for overworked bodies and minds. Postures are meant to relax you and stretches paired with props to keep that gentle and accessible. A simple restorative practice can be achieved with 1 module.
Vinyasa is one of the most common forms of yoga and can range from a gently series of Sun Salutation to arm balances and inversions. This is perfect for those who want to increase flexibility and get their heart rate up. A solid vinyasa practice can be achieved in 2-3 modules with additional modules in the future to deepen the practice as needed.
Nidra is a science-based approach to meditation and suited for those that want to explore the depths of their own mind. What's interesting about Nidra is that you can create your own guided meditations (for yourself) once you understand the methodology. A solid nidra practice can be developed in 1-2 modules.
If I had to pick only one practice to do for the rest of my life it would be my joint health flow. Our joints need movement to stay healthy, and this gentle approach is accessible to all body types. From toes to spine, this focused curriculum will give you want you need to age gracefully. This simple practice can be achieved with 1-2 modules.
The Seven chakras are a powerful self-assessment tool. You can pair this philosophy with nidra, vinyasa or another yoga style to better understand what you need and when you need it. A simple understanding of the chakras can be achieved with 1-2 modules.
The 5 Elements
Admittedly my favorite self-assessment tool in the world, the 5 Elements come from Chinese Medicine's central philosophy that we each have a stress response and understanding our stress response will help us navigate life with few maladaptations. A foundational understanding of the Five elements can be achieved with 2-3 modules.
8 Limbs of Yoga
Since the 8 Limbs encompass all of yoga, there could be an infinite number of modules birthed from this category. The 8 limbs, especially the first two limbs (Yamas and Niyamas) outline an approach to life that increases self-awareness and personal accountability. A base understanding of the 8 Limbs can be achieved within 2-3 modules.
Gentle yoga is powerful because it is something you look forward to and therefore are more likely to practice daily, regardless of energy level. Joint Health is a subset of this style of yoga and Joint Health would be included in this category. Gentle yoga toes the line between gentle stretches and gentle cardio. This is my personal form of Sadhana. A Gentle Yoga practice can be achieved with 1-2 modules.
